Autumn Walk

Here are a few fall pictures from when mom and dad were here for a visit at the beginning of October. They are of a walk we went on in Queen's Park to collect autumn things to make fall arrangements.

Jericho Beach

The weather this past Sunday was beautiful! It was 26 degrees and so sunny so we spent the whole afternoon at the beach with our friends. It was a very relaxing and fun day!

Grouse Grind

This past Saturday Benjamin and I hiked the Grouse Grind....it was my first and probably last time! It is 2.9 km long and 853 m high in elevation, so you can imagine how steep it was. It was the hardest hike I've ever done, and took us 2 hours to complete.

At the start: Feeling pretty good, thinking "I can do this!"

1/4 of the way up: Not so impressed.

It was so steep the whole way up! Ben had no trouble with it, but I had serious doubts that I would make it.

3/4 of the way up: Feeling better, but still exhausted.

WooHoo! We did it! Feeling pretty proud of myself now. The top of Grouse Mountain is beautiful! You can see Stanly park, the Lions Gate bridge, West Van. and the ocean!

Canada Day!

This Canada Day Ben and I invited Tyler & Ferne to watch the fireworks with us downtown from the balcony at Ben's work . The view was pretty good and the fireworks were great! Who doesn't love fireworks?

We all had be signed in as Ben's guests and had to wear these stunning name tags!

After the fireworks Ferne and I played Rock Band, Ferne was on vocals and I played the drums. This might be the beginning of a slight obsession.

I forgot the password to Heather's and my blog... so I guess these cards have to go on here. I'm borrowing some stamps from my mom until the reunion and I made these cards today!

April's Graduation!

Ben and I surprised April by coming to her graduation this past Friday. She had no idea we were coming...she was so surprised and happy to see us!
Heather made April's dress and it was so beautiful!

Mom & Dad May Visit

Mom and Dad came for their quarterly visit on June 19 - 24.
(Dad calls it the "quarterly visit" which makes it sound so official, but really, it's just a regular visit :)

Weekend in Kelowna

We went to Kelowna with Scott and Maria for the weekend on June 13 - 15. Maria's parents live in Kelowna and she wanted us to come along so she could show us her "hood". On Saturday we went for a 13km walk to see all the trestles that had been re-built after they burnt down by forest fires in 2003. The walk was fun but Maria and I hardly made it back...
